Variety created from a triple cross between Rume Sudan with Sarchimore, whose offspring was then crossed with Villa Sarchi. Its complex genetic diversity created a Rust-Resistant variety with a really good cup quality, plus adding the big increment in its productivity.
Why do we grow Ethiosar?
Ethiosar is a variety that produces twice more than a regular Red Bourbon tree. We decided to plant this variety in San Cayetano initially to test out how the variety will develop both agronomically and cup-wise in our weather and soil conditions. Its rust-resistant agronomical qualities are very appealing when put together with a great cup quality. One manzana has been planted of this variety to analyze it carefully before continuing to reproduce it to other farms or at a larger scale within the farm.
